Visit Stamford
Twelve miles away, captured in time by its conservation status, Stamford has retained much of its old world charm and prosperity. Many of the buildings are constructed from old Lincolnshire limestone hence the towns distinguished appearance and popularity with tourists and movie directors.
Stamford is the home of Burghley House one of England’s greatest Elizabethan houses (pictured above). Visitors can explore the house and gardens. Burghley hosts many events, the most famous being the Burghley Horse Trials, which are held annually in September.
